Modifications to the Permanent Storage Endpoint

Modifications to the Permanent Storage Endpoint

The number of individuals using cloud storage solutions has doubled in the last 10 years, from 1.1 billion users in 2014 to approximately 2.3 billion users in 2025. Moreover, total cloud storage usage (enterprise and individuals) is expected to reach 200 zettabytes this year. This only reflects the needs of people to store their data and files in a secure place that they can access at any time and from anywhere. Taking these shocking facts into consideration, we have decided to step up our cloud storage game and make some changes to our existing permanent storage feature. These are the changes we've made:

1. Endpoint access limited to paid plans

To ensure GDPR compliance, we have limited access to this feature to the users on our paid plans (Starter, Professional, and Company) to ensure that our permanent storage solution is being used correctly.

2. New storage limits by subscription plan

Storage size has new limits. These limits depend on each plan.

  • Starter Plan: 1 GB
  • Professional Plan: 2GB
  • Company Plan: 5 GB

3. Direct file download via URL

Files can now be retrieved with a permanent URL. Before, users would have to use our Get file uploaded to 0CodeKit endpoint to be able to retrieve their files from our permanent storage. Now, whenever users upload their files to 0CodeKit, the module will return a URL that has direct access to the specific file.

4. Revised credit costs

Credit costs for this feature have been modified. On one hand, the upload, listing, and deletion of files from the permanent storage are now free of charge. On the other hand, the download of files now costs 1 credit for starting 5 MB of the file's size, depending on the size of the file.

5. Uploaded Files Now Visible in User Interface

The uploaded files to the 0CodeKit permanent storage are now also displayed on the user's interface.
